Opening the mine for tourists
Store Norske has signed an agreement with Basecamp Spitsbergen for guided tours of Mine 3 starting this summer
Håvar Fjerdingøy worked in Gruve 3 from 1982 until it closed down in the autumn of 1996. Here he is on a tour of the mine with managing director Steinar Rorgemoen and the other employees at Basecamp Spitsbergen. The company have signed a deal with Store Norske to open the coal mine for guided tours.
