Monitoring DDT from cotton fields
When weather conditions warrant, researchers at the Zeppelin observatory are still seeing the effects of the environmental poison DDT from cotton production in the southern United States. And the amount of greenhouse gases is increasing.
The monitoring equipment at the Zeppelin observatory 475 meters above sea level is precise, and captures gases and particles from around the world. Ove Hermansen observes there has been more discharge of toxic substances. Since 2002, there has been a threefold increase.
