317 trappers' cabins full of Svalbard's history

All of the Norwegian trapping stations, from shacks to villas, are now registered. Two Svalbard experts spent 40 years on the project. In their book, they say the stations are awe-inspiring and have an important role.

Per Kyrre Reymert and Oddleif Moen has mapped 317 Norwegian trapper cabins in Svalbard. One of the cabins, that were built in Purpurdalen in 1911, was moved via Oslo to the Polar Museum in Tromsø.
